OSHA Dust Classification

This procedure is used to determination of whether a dust meets the criteria of
a Class II dust in accordance with the criteria described in NMAB 353-3-80 and
OSHA Directive CPL 03-00-008 Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program
(Reissued), Appendix E(7). 

Tests are conducted on fine dry dusts. The as-tested sample is a portion that
has been passed through a No. 200 sieve screen. If the moisture content is
more than 5% then the sample is dried.
